ABOUT US

Porcupine Recording Studio was established in the early 1960's.

Known affectionately as 'Porcupine' we have a long history helping musicians record in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Set up by musician/arranger/producer Ted Taylor, it's been run by his son Nick since Ted died in 1992.

We have a Steinway 'A' Grand Piano manufactured in Hamburg in 1904.

We are based in south east London, easily accessible from Charing Cross, or London Bridge, by rail.

I’ve been recording my piano tunes with Nick for the last 3 years and I cannot recommend him high enough! He is one of THE MOST professional and nice people I’ve ever worked with.

Very flexible, fast, creative, easy going and the list goes on and on…Will be recording with Nick again next month!

Thank you so so much Nick! Evelyn

Nick (owner & engineer) provides a wonderful service; he’s very welcoming, has great equipment, sets up efficiently, knows exactly what to do and uses good musical intuition. He works hard to make the customer happy in the mastering process (and I was fussy…), super grand piano, very reasonably priced, and also has some lovely coffee. Overall a great experience, and I’ll certainly be going back there again.

You've really got us a 'sound' - and you've absolutely understood the 'spirit' of it all from the moment we walked into the studio…

Best studio ever!!!
